Connecting THROUGH Local Clinics
In the theme of connecting people who CARE with people in NEED, Footbridge has been offering local clinics in North Carolina, providing free Dental and Hearing clinics since 2019. Several of these clinics have been focused on the Veterans of our nation. These clinics are offered for 1-3 days, 2-4 times per year in different locations centered around Winston-Salem, NC.
Dental Clinics
During Dental Clinics, Footbridge partners with local dental professionals to provide care for individuals in need of assistance. We often partner with local churches to host these events. Patients that have attended our clinics include Veterans, Active Military members and their families, as well as uninsured individuals. During the clinics, patients can receive anywhere from standard cleanings to in-depth procedures like root canals. We were also able to purchase a mobile x-ray trailer, which has been a huge asset during the clinics. At our latest clinic, we were able to provide 94 patients with over $90,000 worth of dental services - all free to the patient and all done in the name of Jesus.
Hearing Clinics
Footbridge partnered with High Point Audiology to provide its first Hearing Clinic on March 17th, 2023, at Pinedale Christian Church in Winston-Salem. The mission of this clinic was to serve Veterans, Active Military Members, and their families. During the clinic, every patient was provided with a free hearing test, and those who needed further testing met with a doctor who provided specific information regarding hearing amplification programs. We were able to serve 61 Veterans & Active Military Members, and hope to provide more Hearing Clinics in the future.
"My mother is in her 90’s and has severe hearing loss. She was reluctant to go for a hearing test. When I mentioned the Footbridge clinic for Veterans and their families, she responded and said she would like to attend. Through this program she was able to get a hearing aid and we can now have conversations. This is a great change for us and a big increase in quality of life." -Brian M.
Spring 2022 Dental Clinic at Pinedale Christian Church
Thank you so much for volunteering your time, energy, and talents at last weekend’s Veterans Dental Clinic; between Saturday and Sunday, over 230 people volunteered and 163 Veterans/Active Military individuals were served - praise God!! Lastly, below is an email that we received from one of the Veterans that we had the honor to serve; this is why we do what we do, and we’re so grateful for your willingness to join us in this Kingdom work. “Thank you all so much for the dental work you provided me this past Saturday at Pinedale Church in Winston-Salem. You were even so kind to help my friend who, unbeknownst to him, had a severe infection. You removed two teeth that were broken and got out all the infection, even completing a root canal for him. You literally saved his life. I am so grateful that you treated him with great dignity and compassion. I am very humbled and stand in awe of how you gave of yourselves. God bless you greatly.”
